  • Westcon becomes first global Cisco distributor: Under the arrangement both organisations can conduct cross-border transactions and Westcon will be able to sell Cisco offerings into any country it operates in.
  • Telcoinabox nets multi-million dollar Telstra deal: Telecommunications reseller, Telcoinabox, has signed a $16 million deal with Telstra Wholesale to roll-out high-end ADSL2+ broadband to its business customers nationally. The company's managing director, Damian Kay, said the deal meant it could break away from a residential grade ADSL offering.
  • NBN - Optic fibre manufacturers to win, distributors to be cut out: Despite the potential boon in the ICT sector as a result of the national broadband network (NBN), distributors will most likely be cut out of the action.
  • Harvey Norman IT sales grow: The ASX-listed retailer has posted positive sales results for the year to date, with its IT business leading the way. The company posted a 3.6 per cent increase in sales for the nine months ending March 31.
  • Utilities sector to up its ICT spending: ICT spending in Australia’s utilities industry will grow this year in spite of the economic downturn, according to IDC. Results from a new report show a shift from traditional operating methods is driving greater adoption of ICT solutions.
