Advent One secures their Tier III data centre with Fortinet
SYDNEY, 5 July, 2015 – Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT), a global leader in high-performance cyber security solutions, has announced the implementation of Fortinet’s Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW) into the Tier III data centre for Advent One, an emerging leader in the provision of Cloud and Managed Services to Australian businesses. Advent One, best known as an award-winning Premier IBM Business Partner, have applied their extensive technical expertise to expand into both Cloud and Managed Services. This expansion has provided Australian businesses with enhanced options in terms of flexibility and reliability for onsite or hosted infrastructure and managed services by a trusted local provider of business solutions. Recognising the need to provide secure, fast and manageable gateways between customers and their data centre, Advent One has adopted Fortinet’s Next Generation security solutions. Advent One selected a suite of Fortinet FortiGate® 1000 Series NGFWs to protect their perimeter after a thorough investigation of the options available. “Fortinet’s firewalls scored higher in every category during our evaluation process,” says Hammad Akbar, network consultant at Advent One. “We wanted 10Gbps firewall throughput, the ability to set up and manage virtual domains for added redundancy for enterprise clients and the ability to shape traffic and monitor activity. When we added up the features that Fortinet brought to the equation and looked at the price/performance, the decision was clear-cut. Fortinet’s FortiGate 1000 Series NGFW firewalls were, dollar-for-dollar, the most cost-effective and function-rich enterprise solutions on the market.” Advent One now operates three FortiGate 1000 Series Next Generation Firewalls, two to support their managed services customers, including their own internal operations, and one dedicated to support their ‘disaster recovery as a service’ customers.
