  • Acer lands another direct deal with Telstra contract

    Acer Computer Australia has again rankled some of its channel partners by winning another multimillion dollar deal using a direct sales approach. Acer has scooped a lucrative preferred supplier agreement with Telstra, binding it to supply desktop PCs for Telstra's Standard Operating Environment (SOE) until June 30, 2000.

  • Toshiba denies resellers are missing out

    Toshiba has moved to dispel concerns in the channel that its state-based product allocation disadvantages some resellers. Bruce Lakin, general manager of the company's information systems division (ISD), told ARN that, since appointing Victoria's CHA and New South Wales' Dicker Data as national distributors in July - taking the number of national distributors to four - concerns about unfair state-based allocations appear to have ended.
