  • Microsoft cuts thin-client costs

Microsoft last week announced price cuts for accessing its Windows NT thin-client software. The move should boost sales of Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition (TSE), according to resellers and integrators. Until now, customers accessing TSE servers had to buy an NT 4.0 Workstation licence and an NT client access licence for each user. Now, Microsoft requires just the new Terminal Server Client Access Licence, which costs $US109 (around $170) - about half of the workstation licence price.
