  • Address matching software a winner at Australia Post

    QAS Systems, a UK-based address matching and correction software developer, has established itself in Australia after being approached by Australia Post to implement its Quick Address Pro software into the organisation's Quality Address Initiative. John Sharman, QAS's director of international business, said Quick Address Pro needs no specialist hardware or additional utilities, except for an underlying application that provides speed of entry.

  • QAD ready for year 2000

    QAD recently announced plans to offer Y2K-compliant enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions in alliance with IBM and JIS. However, Rob McKie, JIS' managing director, was a little less upbeat in his assessment of customers' approach to compliance. He argued that "even at this late stage many organisations are only now starting to react to the business issues that the year 2000 presents"

But the organisation's managing director, Bob Waldie suggested that there aren't enough Australian small businesses participating in similar overseas ventures

  • Reseller training the key for accountancy software sales

    Australian developer Focus Software last week initiated a three-month reseller training program set down for November that it hopes will bring its partners up to speed with the vendor's just-released accounting software package, Greentree. According to Richard Dowling, the managing director at Melbourne-based reseller, William Dowling, the training course will be a vital asset when it comes to selling the software to customers.
