Candle waxes lyrical about Unix reseller

To extend its reach to Unix users for its distributed systems monitoring tool, Candle Corp has appointed Unix reseller OSIX to resell its Candle Command Center.

"OSIX is very strong in the distributed systems space and has a large customer base across Australia that will significantly increase our reach among Unix users," said Phil King, Candle's business partner account manager.

Candle Command Center monitors systems, applications and databases to prevent downtime and maintain application availability across an enterprise from one control centre. It supports systems running on Unix, AIX, HP-UX, Sun Solaris, OS/400, NetWare and Windows NT.

According to Mark Uren, OSIX's general manager, the company intends to sell Candle Command Center as a solution on its own rather than integrating it with other products. However, if needed, it will integrate the solution with other vendors' products, specifically Tivoli and HP OpenView, according to customers' requirements.

Candle Corp is providing OSIX with sales, product and technical training as well as technical support.

Established in 1992, Sydney-based OSIX provides server and networking support, consulting and integration services.
