Purchase Power seeks channel energy

A new group buying website, Purchase Power, is looking for a computer suppliers to help fulfil its members' office requirements.

Stephen Baghdadi, executive director of Purchase Power, said the idea behind the site was for small businesses to band together to increase their collective buying power. Members would also earn loyalty rewards, including Purchase Power shares, depending on how much they purchased over the year.

"It's an aggregation business combined with a unique loyalty program," Baghdadi said. "It includes everything that an office needs, including PABX systems, phones, mobile phones, office products, computer supplies, computers, domestic travel . . . It's still in the development stages."

Baghdadi said the company's business development manager was currently in negotiations with a number of computer suppliers.

He said the company was approaching computing manufacturers, but they would consider using the channel if they could get a competitive price and service.
