CA introduces eBusiness security for channel partners

With its new Internet defence system riding an opportunistic wave of anxiety caused by high profile hack jobs, Computer Associates is encouraging its channel partners to jump on board.
The new system, eTrust enables authorised CA distributors and resellers to offer an eBusiness security line. In the larger scheme of things it also means a comprehensive defence solution through a single vendor.
"eTrust Internet Defence is the latest example of CA's ongoing commitment to the success of our channel partners," said Ken Ballou, CA senior vice president channel sales.
"The Internet security market is growing rapidly and our goal is to give our partners all the tools they need to be successful. Working together we can have an even greater impact on the success of our clients."eTrust will be offered through two-tier distribution, available individually boxed and through CA's channel-exclusive Open License and Master License Programs (http://vip.ca.com).
For channel partners who adopt the system CA is offering discounts on additional products including storage management, network management and desktop/server management solutions.
The package includes eTrust Firewall, eTrust Content Inspection, eTrust Intrusion Detection, eTrust Virtual Private Network, and InoculateIT Anti-virus. These solutions can be implemented individually or as an integrated suite making it a best of breed offering with increased user flexibility.
While the market is sceptical about a full-proof online security option, Jeff Recor, president of leading Internet security provider, Sargon Group, has vouched for eTrust saying its "holistic approach addresses the ever-changing vulnerability's inherent in running a business on the Internet."
