Intel has announced a program to train system integrators and resellers in recommending server solutions and services to their customers.
The E-business Server Program will educate the channel in choosing the most viable server solution for e-commerce applications. Intel will begin contacting its channel partners in the first or second week of October.
"The server platform is where it is really happening -- that's where the most significant growth is in the market, particularly in the front end server space, where it is predicted there will be around 86 per cent on four-year annual compound growth," said Intel's Australia and New Zealand channel marketing manager, Andrew McLean.
Intel will offer configuration tools such as sizing guides, integration tips and a list of Intel validated components and recommendations as well as training for hardware solutions. The company will introduce a certification track for e-business service technologies as part of the Intel Certified Integration Specialist course and will also help match key resellers with e-business solution providers and web developers.
Intel has also foreshadowed a program that will help integrators define software and hardware stacks for e-commerce. Due to kick off in November, the Building your Own E-commerce Solution program will help integrators offer turnkey solutions for getting SMEs into e-commerce.
