Lucent gives Softswitches the eServ

Telecommunications services company eServ is partnering with Lucent Technologies to migrate its operations to Lucent's Softswitch platform.eServ has become a member of Lucent's Full Circle Partner Program and will move its existing services to support the Softswitch platform. The Softswitch is designed for both packet-based and circuit switched networks. eServ will develop Softswitch facilities in New Zealand as part of the partnership. The company's current services are based around Lucent's DNCP platform.
"As a result of this agreement, we will be adding a new technology platform for our services which will further extend our revenue generating capability and result in increased opportunities to quickly meet the needs of carriers worldwide," eServ COO James Roberts said in a statement to the ASX.eServ has been working with Lucent on the development of the Softswitch for around two years. The company will continue to support Lucent's DNCP call processing environment, Roberts said.
Based in Sydney, eServ supplies telephony network infrastructure and services to markets in the US, Hong Kong, China, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. The company specialises in the architecture, design and implementation of Intelligent Networking environments.
