Pioneering developers to battle for Frontier booty
- 25 June, 2003 07:30
Pioneering developers from Australia and New Zealand, including in-house teams that have developed an application for their enterprise, are invited to showcase their skills in Ericsson's Frontier 2003 competition.
The innovative applications must utilise all the benefits of next generation technologies, such as broadband and 3G mobile services, to enhance lifestyle, or create tangible business benefit. The ultimate finalists will then be given a platform to showcase their idea at an industry-wide, Trans-Tasman event.
The next generation and/or broadband application must be market-ready and can use one or more of the following - SMS or MMS platforms, CDMA/1X, GPRS, WAP, 3G and/or broadband.
Prizes will be awarded to the three top applications from both Australia and New Zealand, with a prize for an overall winner of business class travel to a global industry event. Additionally, the winner and runners-up will receive prizes including pairs of mobile phones, free membership and consulting from Ericsson's Mobility World developer program and the chance to present their application to top industry executives.
Visit www.ericsson.com.au/developers/frontier for further details, or to submit an entry. All entries will be treated as commercial-in-confidence.
An expert judging panel will then review all submissions and invite the six developers most highly judged to demonstrate their application at a Trans-Tasman industry event, to be held on September 16 in both Auckland and Sydney. The winner will be selected from the final six.
Applications open today and must be received by August 31.
