Intel narrowed its second-quarter revenue guidance on Thursday, keeping expectations in line with those announced in its first-quarter earnings release.

Second-quarter revenue will be between $US6.6 billion and $6.8 billion, Intel said in a release last week. The company had previously set revenue expectations to come in between $6.4 billion and $7 billion.

Sales of products within the Intel Architecture business, which is made up of the company's desktop, notebook and server processors, are moving to the high end of seasonal expectations. Sales of communications products remain soft, according to the company.

Intel first-quarter results reflected a similar picture of stronger-than-expected PC processor sales balanced by softer communications processor sales. Intel raised prices for its flash memory products in the first quarter, which executives have said hurt the business.
