Red Hat honours top performing A/NZ partners

During its annual forum held in Melbourne, Red Hat took the initiative to recognise commercial and public sector partners for developing innovative solutions based on Red Hat technologies during its fiscal year from April 2018 - March 2019.
For the second year in a row, Leonardo took home the Innovation Partner of the Year award while Macquarie Cloud Services received the Managed Service Partner of the year.
Professional Services Partner of the year was awarded to Integral, and Datacom was named A/NZ Partner of the Year.
“This year’s recipients, and our entire partner ecosystem, help companies embrace innovation, transform and modernise their approaches to IT with open source solutions,” Red Hat A/NZ director of partners and alliances, Garry Gray, said in a LinkedIn blog post.
“From emerging technology and middleware, to hybrid cloud solutions and beyond, our partners have proven invaluable in providing Red Hat’s open source solutions to organisations across the Pacific.They’ve been able to successfully adapt their processes to address the ever-changing needs of IT.”
There were also two customer innovation awards handed out to Heritage Bank and Optus, for the work they have done in creating, maintaining, and deploying successful business applications.
In the case of Heritage Bank, it used Red Hat partner, Integral, along with the Red Hat Open Innovation Labs to help power a new operating model and train its IT team.
Optus was recognised for the work it has done with Voice Notes, which can transcribe customer calls that is based on its cloud native platform, C4, which is backed by Red Hat OpenShift.
During Red Hat Forum, the open source software company revealed it was shaking up its partner model, placing a deeper emphasis on ‘value’, with the new model set to be launched in March 2020.
Furthermore, global channel sales and alliances senior vice president, Mark Enzweiler revealed partner contribution to its business globally was at 74 per cent overall in bookings, and was at 77 per cent last quarter. In Asia Pacific that sits at 85 per cent.
“Red Hat is not going to be successful without its partners, particularly in this region,” Enzweiler said. “90 per cent of our net new customers, come from a partner, averaging four new customer logos a day.”
