Google Cloud taps Vocus to be its sales channel

Google Cloud has announced a partnership that will see publicly-listed telecommunications provider Vocus become a "key sales channel".
Under the agreement, Vocus will offer Google Cloud's public cloud services to enterprise and government customers.
The deal will also benefit Vocus channel partners that will be able to sell and deliver Google Cloud services including cloud infrastructure and data analytics.
Vocus has also become a Google Cloud Interconnect partner, which offers an extension of a customer's on-premises network to Google's network through a "a highly available, low latency connection". Google Cloud Interconnect Partner connects customers to Google through a supported service provider.
Vocus joins a list of industry giants including AT&T, CenturyLink, Digital Realty, Equinix, Macquarie Cloud Services, Megaport, NextDC, NTT and Verizon to name a few.
Vocus is also now a user of Google Cloud technologies for a range of its own business transformation and digitisation purposes. These include helping improve internal collaboration, taking a more flexible approach to application development and exploring ways to use data analytics for better decision making.

“We’re also excited to be collaborating on ways we can enhance our own business transformation by drawing on the capabilities of Google Cloud technology."
Colin Timm, country director at Google Cloud A/NZ, said the partnership can enhance its reach into the enterprise market in "key verticals" and help expand its local footprint.
