Touted as the fastest DVD+RW/+R drive in the world, Ricoh claim its 4x writing speed enables 4GB of data to be written in about 12 seconds. It also features DVD+VR for video recording. Compatibility with DVD players and PC DVD-ROM drives makes the adding, deleting and editing of recordings easy. JustLink buffer underrun software is designed to prevent errors while writing to CD-R/RW. Although there has been much debate in recent years over whether plus or minus would become the most popular rewriting format, the DVD+RW Alliance claimed plus had quadrupled its market share in 2002, while minus advocates released combination drives. The MP5240A is available from Ricoh.
