Aura Information Security has capitalised on early market momentum through the signing of Seccom Global as the vendor’s first channel partner in Australia.

Terms of the agreement will see the managed security service provider offer RedShield solutions to new and existing customers, while expanding its portfolio to include a dedicated enterprise grade web-application shielding service.

Headquartered in Wellington, New Zealand, Aura is a provider of information security consulting services to corporate organisations and government, operating as a subsidiary of solutions provider Kordia following its acquisition in November 2015.

To drive partner momentum across Australia, the business appointed Michael Warnock as country manager for cyber security in August 2017, alongside Tim Steele as channel manager for cyber security.

Three months later, and as the exclusive agent for RedShield on both sides of the Tasman, Aura has acted on plans to build a local channel, through the recruitment of Seccom Global.

From a technology perspective, RedShield combines web-application shielding software with cyber security services, allowing organisations to protect critical web applications while fixing known vulnerabilities.

Over the past three years, RedShield - which deploys almost 7,000 shields - has blocked more than 82 million attacks, denying 30 million during the month of September 2017 alone.
