Big data analytics consulting and managed services provider, Contexti, has appointed Geoffrey Dirago as its new managing director.
Dirago has more than 20 years experience in the IT industry across various sales and leadership roles at numerous software and services companies such as Viatek, SAS Attain IT, Brennan IT and Oracle.
With Dirago’s new appointment, Contexti founder and CEO, Sidney Minassian, will focus on strategy and corporate development, while Dirago will focus on profit, operations and growth opportunities.
"To ensure a smooth and steady growth trajectory now that the market is heating up, without spinning out of control or drowning in our own success, we recognised the need to create this role," Minassian told ARN. "Partners and customers are responding strongly to our niche focus on big data analytics and managed services. We're in growth phase, have great customer success stories and are profitable."
Minassian said Dirago’s appointment followed a solid period of growth and increased demand for its big data analytics consulting and managed services.
“Contexti has a trusted brand, built on strong partnerships, solid local customer references and sincere focus on people, values and culture," Dirago added. "These are great foundations for growth. Geoffrey is a keen advocate and passionate about people. This is one of the many values we aligned with when I made this appointment."
Contexti’s recent strategy has been to focus on niche services, partnering with technology partners such as Amazon Web Services, Cloudera and Talend.
In the coming months, Minassian said it would be further investing into its AWS partnership and focusing on opportunities within the artificial intelligence space.
As a result, the business has delivered and supported more than 50 big data projects across the Asia Pacific and counts Seven West Media, Caltex Australia and Healthdirect Australia as some of its customers.
