The Missing Link has brought in former amaysim IT director, Lee Booy, as the IT solutions provider's very first chief technology officer (CTO).
Booy previously spent four years at amaysim, playing a part in scaling the business from a start-up to a publicly listed company with more than one million customers.
He has also done time with Ericsson, Telkomsel and Hutchison Telecoms.
At amaysim, Booy was responsible for the entirety of the company's ITm operations, managing a 70-plus-strong team of front end and back end developers, DevOps, IT operations, IT support and the project management office.
Since stepping into his new role at The Missing Link, Booy has already been involved in rolling out new communication tools for internal and external collaboration, introduced new policies and changed the structure of the technical team.
The Missing Link CEO, Alex Gambotto, said the decision to hire Booy was the next step in further enhancing the company's skills within its technical senior leadership team.
“After twenty years in the ever changing IT Landscape, further skills in our technical senior leadership team made sense," Gambotto said.
"Our growth continues to humble us and we want to further push the boundaries for our clients and staff."
No doubt, Gambotto's sentiment comes as good news to Booy, who claims to like a challenge.
“I am only happy when I’m moving – innovating, problem-solving and driving change," Booy said. "Success in these areas is another beast, change management in itself is a challenge, but is overcome with transparent communication and empathy.
"I look forward to applying my experience to The Missing Link and the challenges it throws at me," he said.
The appointment comes after The Missing Link's move to open a new office in Hawthorn, Victoria as a result of demand from new and existing clients in the region.
“We’ve always worked nationally, but now demand for our services has increased enabling us to have a permanent footprint in the city," Gambotto said at the time
"We’ve already established a strong team of Sales and Technical staff who have hit the ground running, meeting new prospects and introducing themselves to current clients."
