Multimedia Technology (MMT) has inked a distribution deal with storage company, Drobo.
The new partnership sees MMT bring Dobro's solutions to the Australian market. These include its recently launched Drobo 5D3 solution and select models from its network attached storage (NAS) and storage area network (SAN) ranges.
According to MMT, the addition of Drobo to MMT’s range of NAS solutions gives resellers’ access to the latest direct attached storage (DAS), featuring Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.0 Type-C interface options.
MMT purchasing manager, Mark Eichler, said the Drobo range underpins MMT’s commitment to deliver high performance, in demand storage solutions for SMB and professionals users.
“Our product portfolio includes complimentary products from Samsung NVME high performance SSD’s and professional workstation graphics cards from NVidia and AMD which enable us to deliver complete and varying solutions to our resellers,” he said.
Drobo said that the solutions cater to the demands of SMB resellers looking for performance and high capacity storage for fast media creation and editing, as well as a central back-up location.
“The 5D3 is a direct response to this need, using Drobo’s BeyondRAID technology and the latest Thunderbolt 3 interface,” it said.
Drobo chief technology officer, Rod Harrison, said with creative professionals and consumers having storage needs that change over time, users can take advantage of the benefits of the range that MMT will now bring to the local market.
“Drobos are the only direct-attached storage arrays on the market with unlimited expandability. Users have the ability to choose the drives that fit their capacity, brand and price preferences,” Harrison mentioned.
