Security breach rocks Janteknology

Online security software distributor, Janteknology, has ceased trading after suffering what it claimed was a ‘major internal security breach’.
Janteknology managing director, Glenn Miller, said he had closed the business after its customer, partner, and transactional records were modified or removed.
“We are unable to comment further at this time as these matters are currently in the hands of the police,” he said in an email to resellers.
“This event has had a devastating impact on the company, and compounding the effects of the adverse market conditions we have all been dealing with has forced Janteknology to voluntarily cease trading.”
The distributor has made arrangements to forward customer details to its vendor partners and has recommended that its customers source product and technical support directly from these vendors in future.
“To say I am disappointed would be an understatement,” Miller said.
None of the stolen and modified data contained credit card information or any information that could be useful to commit fraud, he said.
