NTT Communications ICT Solutions connects customers to AWS Cloud

Global IT provider, NTT Communications ICT Solutions, is now a provider to establish Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect services for customers through Melbourne’s NEXTDC data centre facility.
This point of presence (PoP) arrangement enables NTT Communications ICT Solutions to be a provider for AWS, to give AWS users a direct connection from the NEXTDC M1 data centre facility into the AWS Cloud.
NTT ICT will offer a broad portfolio of co-location, internet and WAN services, including SD-WAN, all delivered from the NEXTDC M1 facility, to provide a multitude of connectivity options for Melbourne-based customers looking to connect into the AWS Cloud.
NTT ICT, in its capacity as an AWS Direct Connect partner, will offer connectivity options ranging from 50Mbps up to 10Gbps to customers within the data centre. In addition, it will provide connectivity options leveraging Direct Connect PoPs in both its Sydney locations.
According to the company, the direct connection is the third of its kind in Australia, and the first outside of AWS’ Sydney Region.
NTT Communications ICT Solutions chief operating officer, Tarquin Bellinger, claims the deployment allows for “high speed, low latency connectivity” into the AWS environment without incurring inter-capital backhaul bandwidth charges, either via large WAN links or expensive point to point services.

“Customers can also benefit from NTT ICT’s layer on services such as flexible colocation offerings, Software-defined WAN services (SD-WAN) and infrastructure resale and management services.
