Western Digital has appointed Leader Computers to distribute its HGST and G-Technology branded storage products and solutions in Australia.
The deal adds to Western Digital’s existing distribution agreements with Dicker Data, Synnex, ACA Pacific, BMS Technology, Multimedia Technology, Topstar Computer International and Wholesale IT.
The agreement includes the full range of HGST and G-Technology products. The HGST brand delivers enterprise-class hard disk drives (HDDs) and solid state drives (SSDs) for data centre applications, mobile HDDs, external storage solutions and just a bunch of disks (JBOD) systems.
The G-Technology brand designs external storage solutions for consumers and content-creation professionals. Leader Computers will also distribute the HGST Active Archive System, a cloud-scale object storage system for data centre transition from siloed data storage to cloud-scale active archiving.
“We are excited to partner with Leader Computers to expand our Australian distribution network and support customer demand for reliable, high-performance and high-capacity storage solutions,” HGST Asia-Pacific channel business managing director, Raman Yeung, said.
“By leveraging Leader Computers’ in-depth understanding of the local market and extensive Australia-wide network, we are positioned to grow our customer base and strengthen our company position in Australia."
Leader Computers managing director, Theo Kristoris, said working with Western Digital will enable the company to help strengthen the vendor’s local footprint while ensuring Leader’s customers’ storage needs are satisfied.
