Red Hat launches virtual training program in Asia-Pacific

Open source software company, Red Hat, has launched its virtual training program in Asia-Pacific that aims to help bring online training and real-time courses on its technologies to customers, partners, and IT professionals, especially those in remote areas.

According to the company, the goal of this new initiative is to make access to training on Red Hat’s open source technology simple and quick, helping to eliminate the limitations of having to travel training in a single location and train more people on its technologies, to help prepare participants to meet the requirements for certification.

Users may choose remote courses in its products and solutions portfolio, including operating system management, administration, application integration and maximisation, virtualisation, and hybrid Cloud development amongst others.

The courses are currently available in English for Australia, New Zealand, ASEAN, Hong Kong and India. Next year, the company intends to roll out virtual training courses in Japanese, Korean and simplified Chinese for Japan, Korea and China markets.

Red Hat Asia-Pacific pre sales and services senior director, Sachin Shridhar, said the Virtual Training Program was designed in response to customer requests to help them overcome challenges of physical training facilities and offerings, including timing and training locations.

“This program offers a new channel of training delivery model to meet the schedules of our customers who see the value of Red Hat training but want flexibility to take training outside of physical classrooms, on their own schedule.

“It is designed to enable us to train a larger number of customers, partners and IT professionals across Asia Pacific in Red Hat’s technologies in an agile, quick and effective method, helping to prepare participants to meet the requirements for Red Hat certification,” he said.

To access the virtual training, participants need to install a program on their computers. After completing courses, participants can visit the offices of a Red Hat authorised training partner in their country to sit for Red Hat certification exams.

Red Hat also offers an online compatibility testing tool, so students can test their systems to make sure their systems and Internet access meet the requirements.
