Distribution Central makes distie deal with MobileIron
Distribution Central has forged a strategic partnership with mobile enterprise security vendor, MobileIron, and will distribute MobileIron’s mobile security and enterprise mobility management (EMM) suite of technologies in A/NZ.
MobileIron's platform is designed to secure data-at-rest on mobile devices, in apps, and in Cloud storage, and secure data-in-motion as it moves between the corporate network, devices, and storage repositories.
MobileIron Asia-Pacific and Japan sales general manager and vice-president, Matt Bennett, said with MobileIron, IT organisations can secure corporate information wherever it lives while preserving employee privacy.
"Mobility is a major challenge for businesses as they need to balance the need to increase productivity with the need to secure enterprise data. With MobileIron's EMM platform, we're able to offer our partners the opportunity to deploy highly-customised mobility solutions that will transform their customers' business processes and workflows."
Bennett added that working with Distribution Central will enable the company to extend its reach across the A/NZ region.

Distribution Central managing director and CEO, Nick Verykios, said BYOD and the consumerisation of IT are driving the need for businesses to address EMM and security.
“MobileIron enhances our technology portfolio with its enterprise level mobile management solutions. Coupled with our complete portfolio of channel support services, technical expertise and coverage, our A/NZ partners will be well-equipped to address their customers' contemporary business challenges," Verykios claimed.
Verykios mentioned adding on MobileIron to its vendor suite boosts its mobile strategy and complements the other vendor partnerships it has in place.
"MobileIron outlined its channel strategy to us, and it was an extension of our own mobile strategy. Its security ends right to the endpoint and there is consistent recording and management across all kinds of mobile devices," he told ARN.
According to Verykios, resellers with a mobile strategy will benefit the most from this deal.
"It completes their mobile management and mobile security strategy, particularly resellers that have gone out and made a statement about their own BYOD strategy and taking that to the customer. It's not about the devices themselves, but also the data and applications and protecting them.
"Our strategy is not vertical aligned, it's reseller aligned based on what kind of mobile strategies they're designing for their customers," he said.
Verykios said the company will be looking to provide reference architectures to its customers.
"We'll be working with customers so they can provide unsolicited proposals for their customers to go out and complete sales. That's a key part of our strategy annd there's reseller opportunity here. We're looking for technologies that we will be able to continue to our pods and reference architecture play," he added.
