Impact Systems has inked a distribution deal with NCS Technologies to take its Cirrus LT zero client laptop to the A/NZ market.
The highly secure Cirrus LT laptop features a 14-inch screen, six cell battery, available docking station, integrated smart card reader and Wi-Fi options. It uses the Teradici PCoIP protocol, which compresses, encrypts and encodes the computing experience at the datacentre and transmits only pixels across the network to the end user.
PC users have secure, fully functional access to all applications. Cirrus LT takes advantage of the strongest security protocols, AES-256 cryptography and NSA Suite B ciphers.
According to a NCS statement, IT departments that implement zero client technology reduce maintenance and administrative complexity - providing a lower total cost of ownership.
It works with VMware Horizon View and Amazon WorkSpaces Cloud services.
The Cirrus LT was launched in the US in 2014 and is focused on government, finance and healthcare, along with other segments where users demand security, mobility and efficiency.
Impact Systems managing director, Peter Agamalis, said NCS begun experiencing some demand from the A/NZ market for its Cirrus LT product.
“It is the only industry-based zero device on the market today that I’m aware of. It’s very unique and opens up many doors in A/NZ for resellers that wish to enter the marketplace,” he said.
The product provides resellers with incredibly high margins and resellers will be offered an introductory starter kit, Agamalis said.
“The gravity of this product enables resellers to provide a unique price point,” he said.
