Oakton appoints former HP exec to lead NSW strategy

Technology consulting firm Oakton has appointed former HP enterprise service VP, Alan Bennett, to lead the company's business strategy in NSW.
Bennett will join the company's executive leadership team as executive general manager for NSW, where he drive drive market share growth with the Services integration and Applications-as-a-Service businesses across the state.
Prior to joining Oakton, he held the position of vice president for enterprise services at HP South Pacific, where he was responsible for leading growth and setting business strategy to optimise new opportunities within Australia and New Zealand.
According to a company statement, Bennett has government and commercial experience, having helped secure some of HP Enterprise Services’ largest contracts in Europe, Middle East, America and Asia Pacific.
"He has gained extensive Australian and global industry experience and has been responsible for helping secure major contract wins in both the government and corporate sectors, including telecommunications," the statement said.
Oakton is a subsidiary of Dimension Data after the global distributor acquired the company for $171 million in August last year.
Oakton chief executive, Neil Wilson, said he was pleased to have Alan join the team.
"His extensive experience will be a core asset as we continue to drive market share growth with our Services integration and Applications as a Service offers," he said.
