iiNet provides Lync for SMBs

iiNet Microsoft Lync will be available on three business plans from $1.95 per user, per month

iiNet has broadened its communications offering for small businesses through adding Microsoft Lync to the fold.

iiNet Microsoft Lync offers voice and video calling, desktop sharing and instant messaging on a single platform.

It will be available across three of iiNet’s business plans and starts from $1.95 per month, per user with no contracts.

It builds on the ISP’s Hosted Microsoft Exchange email service, which was launched last year.

“Our new Lync offering equips SMBs with the tools they need to communicate on the move, from virtually any device, at an affordable price,” iiNet chief business officer, Greg Bader, said in a statement.

Microsoft Australia Microsoft Office division lead, Steven Miller, said the expanded partnership with iiNet was about bringing together the key elements that underpin a mobile workforce, particularly in an environment where almost 40 per cent of Australian SMEs allow staff to work away from the office.

That figure is based on a study that was released in October last year from the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) titled ‘Home is where the work is...the digital worker.’
