ESET opens Sydney office in partner expansion push

Leading antivirus software firm, ESET, has launched an ambitious push for new partners in the Australian market with the opening of a new Sydney office today.
The Slovakian headquartered digital protection company, which has 135 million users worldwide, has appointed Florin Vasile as country manager to oversee the roll out of its new partner program to increase market share.
ESET, which was founded in Bratislava in 1992 after two young programmers discovered one of the first computer viruses, currently has 1.5 per cent of the Australian market, 13 per cent in New Zealand and 4 per cent worldwide.
It is looking to double its market share in the Australian market in the coming year with an aggressive push the attract new partners and clients.
Vasile said his number one goal was to increase market share and that he had already added 18 partners to the company's 860 existing partners. New partners so far include Pro One Security Solutions, IT bunch and Answers IT.
“It is built on four pillars: award winning products, channel commitment, industry leading margins and great support,” he said. “ESET is a new challenge and an amazing one.”
ESET, which has 800 employees and offices in San Diego, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Singapore, has achieved a record of consecutive Virus Bulletin 100 awards for its NOD32 technology and and claims to have never missed a single “In-the-Wild” worm or virus since the inception of independent testing in 1998.
Vasile says the company was 100 per cent channel-focused and that it was looking for committed partners.
"We have designed a set of extremely competitive margins and It is not a matter of quantity, but quality, that we look for in our partners,“ he said.
