French security software vendor, ITrust, is entering the A/NZ market with the help of local distributor, Vadis Systems.
ITrust’s full suite of vulnerability management and security software solutions will be provided to the A/NZ market, including the vendor’s IKare range of software.
IKare Australia business development manager, Nicolas Chaudhari, said the vendor decided to establish a local presence after it saw potential in the overall Asia Pacific region.
“Australia is right for us because it is similar to the US and UK space,” he said.
“It is an English speaking market, and culturally it is not such a big leap from Europe.”
Chaudhari adds that ITrust carried out a market survey before entering the market, and based on its favourable result, came to the conclusion that it is “a good way to gain a foothold in the Asia Pacific region.”
Small business target
As for what markets ITrust will be targeting with IKare, Chaudhari said the primary focus will be small businesses.
“The market is very mature in our field, so we wanted to make this kind of technology available for business that would not normally have the capabilities to implement it,” he said.
Chaudhari said the potential lies in numerous businesses that are currently vulnerable to attack because they feel they do not have the means to protect themselves.
“There is a significant market there, because the last report into cyber security shows that small businesses are becoming a bigger target because they represent more of a opportunity for attackers,” he said.
Beyond providing security products to small businesses, Chaudhari expects IKare’s portfolio to appeal to non-profit organisations as well.
