Chinese telecommunications and ICT services provider, Huawei, has reported revenue increase of about 10.8 per cent to about CNY 113.8 billion ($19.8 billion) in the first six months of the year over the same period last year.
The increase was helped in part by growth in the company’s Carrier Network business, its enterprise business and operational efficiency, according to a company statement.
Huawei expects to generate a net profit margin of 7- 8 per cent in 2013, according to a Huawei spokesperson.
Huawei chief financial officer, Cathy Meng, said the company’s revenues and profit are in line with its expectations.
“Our success in H1 2013 was mainly driven by the steady growth of the Carrier Network business, the expansion of the Enterprise business, and the fast growth of the Consumer business, as well as the continuous enhancement of our overall operational efficiency,” Meng said.
Huawei expects strong performance and profit margins in the second half of this year and are confident that we will achieve our goal to increase revenue by 10 per cent, Meng said.
Meng also noted the company plans to continue to focus on its pipe strategy, increase investment in core growth areas for the business, and boost efficiency through a series of operational and management reviews and improvements.
