Peacock picks up Zebra for its printer fold

Stock and inventory specialist Peacock Bros has added the new Zebra Z4M metal-casing, thermal barcode label printer to its range of "pack it, print it, track it and manage it" solutions.
Printing up to 10 inches per second, with a maximum print width of more than 10 centimetres, the high resolution Zebra Z4M comes standard with 4MB of DRAM (upgradeable to 8MB via a PCMCIA card) and includes an RS-232C/422/485 serial port and a bi-directional parallel port.
Application flexibility is proving a major draw-card for the unit, according to Neil Crump, managing director of Peacock Bros. The Zebra Z4M works with other thermal transfer printer brands without changing existing source codes.
Large, clumsy scanners, mismatched hardware and software, plus difficulties in collected data transferring across a broad range of systems has long encumbered stock movements and the labelling of goods, according to Crump. But this is about to change, he adds.
With service and support offices in Victoria, NSW and Queensland, Peacock Bros provides an end-to-end range of solutions tailored to retail, warehouse, distribution and manufacturing applications using flexible Quick ID solutions software.
