StorageCraft signs Express Data as second Aussie distie

Express Data's complementary product portfolio anticipated to drive strategic growth for StorageCraft

Data protection software vendor, StorageCraft Technology Corporation has signed Express Data as its second Australian distributor.

ACA Pacific was previously the sole distributor for the vendor.

Express Data was chosen because it offers products that are complementary to StorageCraft’s arsenal, and can therefore contribute to strategic growth to move towards the next level, according to StorageCraft APAC vice-president, Richard Giddey.

“We had been looking for another distributor for the past two years,” he said. “Express Data is a respected tier one distributor in the marketplace with a focused product portfolio, and as a distributor of Microsoft, it became a great fit as most of our own products operate on the Microsoft platform.”

Express Data will be taking StorageCraft’s full portfolio to market, with particular focus on virtual backup and data recovery.

The signing was a result of “explosive growth” and a customer base that is currently at 39,000 around across Australia and New Zealand.

At present, the vendor is satisfied with two distributors, and is not looking to sign another.

"Ultimately StorageCraft has expressed confidence that its customers will have an increased level of value delivered through Express Data, including pre-sales and technical resources to complement its local technical support operation," Express Data solutions division manager, Chris Apthorpe, said.

The StorageCraft training and support, based in Sydney and Brisbane, is 80 per cent Microsoft-centric, and 20 per cent product-centric, said Giddey.
