ICT solutions provider, Fujitsu is returning its fi range of A4 image scanners with a series of new models: the fi-6130Z, fi-6140Z, fi-6230Z, and fi-6240Z.
The fi-6140Z and fi-6240Z promise a 150 per cent improvement in scanning speed over previous models with 60ppm or 120ipm in A4 colour at 200dpi, and the fi-6130Z and fi-6230Z are capable of 40ppm or 80ipm.
Fujitsu has also introduced new functions to its range. The in-built ScanSnap mode allows users to scan documents as if they were using the ScanSnap series of products without the need to adjust settings. This option is designed for documents meant for everyday office applications.
The Scanner Central Admin function gives users the ability to monitor scanner running status, and to install and update drivers and software.
Each model is equipped with intelligent multi-feed to allow users to bypass multi-feed detection for scanning pages with attachments as they are.
They also come with a paper protection function to stop scanner operation upon error detection, and when scanning with the bundled carrier sheet, the fi range is capable of digitising paper sizes up to A3, or as little as ID card sizes.
The fi series comes with ScandAll Pro software, which uses divider sheets with printed barcodes and patch codes to sort image data from multiple page feed into user-defined units. The software has now been updated to recognise more forms of 1D barcodes.
The fi-6140Z and fi-6240Z models are one step ahead with ScandAll Pro V2 Premium which utilises 2D barcodes instead. This feature is optional for fi-6130Z and fi-6230Z users.
All models also come with Kofax VRS, a form of scanner software that automatically adjusts settings to accommodate for document quality to produce high quality image data.
Fujitsu’s new fi range of A4 image scanners is available from January 16.
