After over six years, Steve Martin has left his position with Symantec to take up a consultant’s role with Channel Dynamics.
Martin was previously director of the vendor’s SMB business. He left the company in July, and took a couple of weeks vacation before taking up his new role.
“I felt it was time to move on,” Martin said. “I left on good terms, but look forward to working with Moheb [Moses, Channel Dynamics director] while I consider my next career move.
“I’m definitely going to remain part of the IT industry and channel moving forward.”
Steve’s departure has seen Jeff Arndt appointed as Symantec’s director, channels and alliances, Pacific region. Previously the director of enterprise channels, Arndt will assume all responsibilities for Symantec’s channel moving forward.
In a statement, Symantec vice president and managing director, Craig Scroggie, said “Steve Martin, director, SMB, Symantec Pacific region left Symantec in July. Steve has been with Symantec for close to seven years and during that time has been instrumental in building the channels and SMB business in Australia and New Zealand.
He has become a well-known figure in the IT industry, regularly speaking on panels and participating in industry events. Steve leaves Symantec on good terms and we would like to thank him and wish him all the best for the future.”
