Online data engine, iAsset, has been added to the Tech23 event line-up for 2011.
The event, which showcases new and emerging technology-based start ups, gives companies inducted into Tech23 a chance to score $150,000 in funding.
It provides innovative companies within the technology space with five minutes to show their business model to an audience comprising potential investors, partners and clients.
iAsset, was launched by Distribution Central’s parent company, Frew Family Investments in August last year.
The online management system automates aspects of the entire sales, marketing and service process, including data tracking, learning and product lifecycle management.
“We applied and were accepted, they check out what we do and we made it to the list. It’s very exciting,” iAsset founder, Scott Frew, said.
Since the launch of iAsset, Frew said it had a few international companies conducting proof-of-concepts at the moment.
The end-of-life module has also been released, so when hardware or software products are nearing expiry, the engine will alert the partner and customer to the upgrade opportunity.
It is also in the process of moving 15 iAsset staff from its St Leonard’s base to the A.S.K Learning office in North Sydney. The transfer is set for August 1.
All up there will be about 30 staff in the North Sydney office.
Last year, iAsset also scored 14th spot on the Guidewire Group’s 2010 Innovate!100 list.
Besides iAsset, other companies that are also in the running include Agworld, BugHerd, buildAR.com, Centryc Solutions, Cinergix, Effective Measure, Filter Squad, Friendorse, goCatch, Hyperlocalizer, InterfereX, Kaggle, ESR Momentum, Navisens, OrionVM, Roamz, Specialist Link, StageBitz, EWN, Thereitis.com, vtalk and ZeroMail.
This year's Tech23, the third, will be held in Sydney on August 23.
