NBN Co signs Fujitsu for $25 million desktop support contract

Three-year contract will see Fujitsu provision computing services to NBN Co staff

NBN Co has inked a $25 million deal with IT service provider, Fujitsu, to provide desktop support services to all of the company’s staff.

This is the second NBN contract scored by the service provider this year.

Last month, Fujitsu was announced as NBN Co’s prime alliance partner for laying out NBN fibre in new development areas. The deal was worth $100 million.

The new three-year end-user technology services (EUTS) contract will see the IT service provider provision computing services to NBN Co staff which will include managed desktop, infrastructure and technology services.

NBN Co stressed it was an ever expanding organisation and Fujitsu’s appointment for this agreement is expected to aid in cutting internal operation costs.

The company overseeing the NBN rollout is expected to open regional offices across Australia.

“Fujitsu looks forward to working with NBN Co to meet its ambitious mandate of delivering high-speed broadband to every Australian,” Fujitsu CEO, Mike Foster, said in a statement.

“This agreement represents a sound alignment of NBN Co’s objectives and Fujitsu’s capabilities and experience and leverages investments we’ve made over the last few years in the area of managed services.”
