Local online payment provider, eWAY, has moved into the UK e-commerce market.
In line with the move, Australian-born Nick Adams will supervise all eWAY operations in the UK as business development director.
According to Adams, the current UK market is significantly more mature than Australia; however, the present UK payment gateway suppliers only offer a commoditised service that does not deliver on service or reliable up-time.
The company aims to provide services not currently presented in the UK market by offering the full eWAY payment service and online revenue management tools to SME customers.
It plans to do it by following up banks, merchant facilities and reducing the Web development time.
“We are taking a [local] business model and emulating it in a far bigger market – first in the UK and then Europe,” Adams said.
He intends to utilise eWAY’s 360 degree approach to e-commerce solutions on the foreign market.
“The quality of service will be an added market driver and because we have office locations in both countries, we will offer our customers 24-hour human support via email, phone and live chat,” Adams added.
eWAY CEO, Matt Bullock, said the company’s payment gateway service has received a lot of interest from the UK with which he foresees rapid growth in a short timeframe.
Bullock also stated that Adams’ experience of more than ten years in the e-commerce landscape – across Australia, UK and Europe provides a strong platform for the company to launch into the competitive UK market.
