Telstra unveils new mobile hotspot device

The Elite Mobile can support up to five devices in areas with NextG network coverage

Telstra has released its Elite Mobile Wi-Fi battery-powered hotspot 3G device for business and prepaid customers.

“Customers can now avoid the hassle of having to find public hotspots by taking mobile Wi-Fi with them,” Telstra mobility products executive director, Warwick Bray, said in a statement.

“The device should also prove popular with our business customers who increasingly use Wi-Fi enabled devices such as tablets and cameras and require mobile connectivity to support fast file transfers.”

Avergae battery life is up to four hours with a standby time of 100 hours.

Telstra business customers can sign up to a $29 per month contract with 1GB data allowance and receive the Elite Mobile for $0 upfront. Contract length is 24 months.

A prepaid option will be available from April 12 for $129. This comes with 5GB of data with 90 days expiry.
