Popular talk show host, Oprah Winfrey, has agreed to use Telstra's telco services while in Australia. The company claimed around 300 of Winfrey's viewers would get free access and infrastructure during the stay.
According to Telstra Chief Marketing Officer, Kate McKenzie, Telstra would provide Next G mobile network connections, mobile broadband USB modems for the show’s producers and network support for two live shows at the Opera House on December 14.
“Telstra’s people will help the project too with a small team of Telstra Next G Angels set to assist Oprah show audience members and crew by answering their technology questions and providing tech support,” she said in a statement.
“With a global audience across 145 countries we are delighted to partner with The Oprah Winfrey Show and help showcase the very best Australia has to offer.”
Telstra’s deal comes after Motorola’s announcement it would be providing show participants with free Motorola Defy “summer-proof” Android handsets. The handset is being exclusively distributed through Telstra.
