IT managed services provider, Brennan IT, has landed a five-year, $5 million contract to supply IT and telecommunications infrastructure for national freight company, Northline.
The outsourcing deal is worth about $1 million per-year and requires Brennan to supply a hosted managed service, which encompasses servers, a national private network linking all Northline offices, telecommunications infrastructure for portable personalised numbers and video conferencing.
The infrastructure will be backed by Brennan’s redundant data centres in Sydney and Brisbane.
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 software running on tier one server hardware, replaces Northline’s 16 ageing servers which were running Windows Server 2003.
Brennan will also deploy Cisco Call Manager IP telephony system with each of Northline’s 300 office-based employees receiving an IP-capable phone handset.
The new infrastructure also supplies unified communications, so an employee can make a telephone call to another Northline office, commence a video conferencing session on their PC as well as share documents over the network in real time.
In May, Brennan secured a multimillion dollar cloud services deal with surf wear retailer, City Beach.
