Professional Computer Maintenance to merge with Intuit Technologies

Two of Tasmania’s leading IT companies will join forces from October 1. Third-party IT maintenance company, Professional Computer Maintenance (PCM), will merge with business technology provider, Intuit Technologies, to create an ICT service provider employing 74 people throughout the state.

“The merger is a significant move forward for both businesses and is a sound strategic fit,” Intuit CEO, Dane Bignel,l said. “It will cement our position as Tasmania’s pre-eminent Statewide ICT provider.

“Specifically, we will have a unique and truly statewide capability which will allow enhanced 24/7 response, and our broad skill-set will ensure that a full range of business ICT needs can be met by a single organisation.

“The team from PCM will continue to provide the same professional service to their existing clients as well as significantly adding to Intuit’s ICT service capabilities.

“At the same time, the broad sales and service offering of Intuit will expand PCM’s business horizons.”

As part of the merger arrangements, all of PCM’s current owners will remain with the company and PCM’s Managing Director, Ross Smith, will also take on the role of Northern Manager and join Intuit’s executive management team.

In the short term, Intuit and PCM will continue to operate as separate businesses.

Intuit Technologies offers a range of ICT products and services, from information system design, procurement and installation through to short and long-term ICT support.

Professional Computer Maintenance services and supports PC systems, laptops, printers, plotters, monitors, projectors, servers and networks.
