SAP extends reseller relationships

SAP Australia has introduced its global Extended Business Program into the local market in an attempt to aid partners and broaden its reach.
The program allows a reseller or integrator partner to become a Master Value Added Reseller and build a network of peers to provide additional niche capabilities, as well as broaden its geographic or vertical reach.
Broad-based business applications provider, Extend Technologies, has been appointed SAP’s first Master VAR in the region.
The vendor’s senior partner sales manager, Cian McLoughlin, said the program was already successful in Europe and parts of Asia.
McLoughlin said the initial goal was to launch locally and make sure it was able to support and refine the initiative before additional Master VARs are appointed.
“Down the track, we’ll re-evaluate the potential for other Master VARs in other [specific] market areas,” he said. “There’s no expectation that our other partners will be required to be a part of this program.”
In a release, Extend Technologies general manager, Andrew Powell, said the Extended Business Program network means the reseller can provide better assistance to customers in a different city, or outside the reseller’s traditional industry expertise.
Among its offering are mining, automotive, industrial and agricultural solutions.
“We can enable these companies to develop strong SAP practices with compelling and relevant offers for the markets they service,” Powell said.
