Storage vendor, Isilon Systems, is looking to form new channel partnerships as part of a virtualisation push.
The vendor has promoted Gary Donin as its new technical director to head up its new initiative. He said the vendor’s success in the virtualisation space made finding partners in that field the priority.
“We’ve had success in the US with our virtualisation solution, so we’re looking to move into the space here as well,” Donin said. “We’ll be looking for partners in the VMware space, and some other areas we’ll be identifying over the coming months.
“We’re not sure of the exact numbers of partners we’ll be looking for, as we’re still doing research in the space – we’re planning to attend a VMware seminar over the next month to kick that off.”
Donin was previously in a roving support role with Isilon after joining the vendor in late 2008. In the new role, he will be responsible for marketing and pre-sales activity in Australia and New Zealand, and finding new market relationships.
Before joining Isilon, Donin was self-employed and specialised in delivering storage, visualisation, animation, graphics workstation, 3D technology and multimedia solutions to a range of different vertical markets.
