Capgemini snaps up Nu Solutions

Acquisition to form a new business unit for the consultancy and outsourcing firm, as it looks to up its presence in the market

Consulting and outsourcing giant, Capgemini, has acquired testing services specialist, Nu Solutions.

Under the acquisition, Nu Solutions will be completely integrated with the parent company, and rebranded as Capgemini Testing Services.

All 75 staff and management will be retained in the acquisition.

Capgemini Australia CEO, Paul Thorley, said the synergies and long associations between the two companies made it an easy fit, as Capgemini looked to take a leadership position in testing services in the local market.

“Nu Solutions founder, Eli Shellim, and I have known each other for two years in a collaborative relationship, so I already knew of the cultural match and complementary skills of Nu Solutions,” Thorley said.

“We’re looking to expand in the Australian market, and have already decided to appoint five further staff, and are planning further hiring beyond that.”

Capgemini will now have 500 staff in Australia, across Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide An additional 250 support the operation from overseas locations such as India and China.

Thorley said that while he would continue to scan the market for further opportunities, he wasn’t anticipating any further acquisitions in the near term.

Capgemini has a presence in more than 30 nations. It employs over 90,000 staff worldwide.

Nu Solutions customers span the financial services, government, telecommunications and retail sectors.

It offers customers a range of manual and technical testing services, as well as training and testing tools.
