Internet service provider (ISP), Internode, has appointed Liz Cornelissen as Chief Operations Officer (COO), rounding out its year-long management restructure.
In this newly created role, Cornelissen will oversee the company’s customer service, sales, media, product management and business program units. Her primary focus will be on optimising Internode’s structure, systems and skills to compete in the service provider industry.
She said the next challenge is how the ISP will respond to the maturing broadband marketplace.
“My new role is to ensure that the people and the practices in the business are best prepared to meet that challenge,” Cornelissen said, who has been with Internode for six years as its customer services manager. Prior to her employment with the ISP, she was also the Australian and New Zealand customer services manager for Thompson Reuters. This role subsequently encompassed Asia.
Since August 2008, Internode has had a huge management shake-up, with Patrick Tapper assuming the role of CEO after a long stint as general manager. Financial controller, Sean Habgood, was promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Mike Damms was recruited as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Internode founder, Simon Hackett, still holds the managing director title.
