Agile sets up shop in Australia

Contact centre integrator and software developer is anticipating rapid growth in the local market despite tight conditions

New Zealand-based software developer and integrator, Agile, has crossed the Tasman to set up shop in Sydney.

The organisation recently sold its software to contact centre giant, Avaya, providing the capital needed to fund the move, Agile CEO and co-founder, Tony Jayne, said.

“We’d been selling the solution globally under and OEM contract anyway, and doing integration on an ad hoc basis in Australia already, so the expansion made logical sense,” Jayne said.

“We’re hoping to use the skills we’ve already developed in contact centres to find opportunities in a tight market.”

The head office for the Australian operations will be based in Bondi Junction in Sydney. The office is currently staffed by five people, with more being interviewed.

The integrator has brought in Peter Dillon to handle the local business.

“Over the next three years, we’re expecting to equal or exceed our New Zealand revenue,” Jayne said.

“Obviously, our staff headcount will grow as our business does. We have over 100 people in New Zealand."

Agile works with vendors such as Avaya, Microsoft, Tandberg and Nice, and has been contracted back by Avaya to continue development on the recently-sold software platform.
