Fujitsu builds software-as-a-service capabilities with salesforce.com

Deal to build on the integrator's global relationship with the cloud service provider

Fujitsu is broadening its managed services offering through a software-as-a-service (SaaS) partnership with salesforce.com.

Under the agreement, the integrator will provide consulting services for salesforce.com’s cloud applications as well as application development and integration services on the Force.com platform.

Fujitsu group executive director, Dan O’Hara, said the partnership was a continuation of the relationship the two organisations has enjoyed overseas in nations such as Japan and the US.

“We see it as a significant part of our business going forward as it is a very synergetic product for what we do,” O’Hara said.

“It’s an emerging market for us – we do a lot of managed services, but previously we haven’t offered a great deal of SaaS. We see this as an important area for us going forward.

“Within the CRM space we see a lot of opportunities in driving sales teams and allowing organisations to retain the history of sales relationships beyond the point where the sales staff leaves the organisation.”

In March, Fujitsu acquired Telstra (ASX: TLS) IT services subsidiary, Kaz Group, for $200 million and then in April it acquired Supply Chain Consulting in a move to boost its SAP capabilities.
