HP Australia gets green with WWF

HP has committed to donating $US10 for every sale of its new energy-efficient PC to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
Made for SMBs, the HP dx2810 Special Edition PC will be available in July through all HP channel partners and retails for $1049. The funds will contribute towards the WWF’s Coral Triangle Program, which aims to safeguard the marine ecosystem of the Coral Triangle region spanning Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste.
“As a corporate citizen, HP has worked with the WWF since 2006 and we got involved with the Coral Triangle Program because it was specific to our South-Pacific region,” HP group manager for commercial products, Rob Kingston, said. “Our green strategy of minimising our environmental impact is aligned with the WWF and we released this new product to highlight our power conserving direction and our partner’s cause.”
The initiative is headed up by local HP marketing vice-president, Dennis Mark. The company has also acquired help from distribution partners to push the product to the SMB market.
Depending of the success of this campaign, the donation program will run indefinitely.
