HarvestRoad's new Chinese Wizard

Software platform developer HarvestRoad has released a Chinese language version of its Web site Wizard creation toolkit to capitalise on ASP (application service provider) customer opportunities in Asia.
The software will be sold on a wholesale licence basis to ASPs and Web portal owners who charge small business owners and individuals monthly fees to create and maintain Web sites online.
"Recently, the take-up of the Internet outside the US finally outgrew the adoption rate within the US," said Grame Barty, managing director at HarvestRoad. "There is a very sizeable opportunity to be had in Asia, which is one of the fastest-growing markets. It's a case of being part of a market as it begins to emerge."
HarvestRoad has already signed Edgemont Asia, a Chinese software developer and ASP, as its first partner, and has forged a deal with hosting and managed services provider iAsiaworks to host the platform at its data centres across the region.
"We believe there is no geographical or demographical barrier to this software - there is a fundamental desire for people to communicate," Barty said.
