IT outsourcing provider, Satyam, has picked Venki Prathivadi to take on the position of country manager after Deepak Nangia vacated the role in May.
The embattled company has also appointed Vijay Prasad as principal advisor for the A/NZ region.
Prathivadi will now be responsible for heading up all operations and has been with Satyam for six years, most recently as a delivery director for a telecommunications contract. Previously, he held roles with SAP and EDS.
In a statement, Prathivadi said Satyam had established a leading position in Australia in a short time.
“We enjoy strong relationships with leading clients across key verticals, and our associates are among the most skilled and dedicated in our industry. I am thankful for the opportunity to build on these strengths and lead Satyam to a new level of success,” Prathivadi said in the statement.
Earlier this year, Satyam was plunged into a crisis after its founder, B. Ramalinga Raju, said in January the company's profits had been overstated for several years.
